About the project:
Moving Through Screens is an immersive, multi-sensory installation paying homage to media artist Nam June Paik. Developed for the Hexadome—a six-screen architectural space—the work uses choreography, generative AI, and spatial sound to create a fluid, non-linear narrative. The installation captures physical gestures and transforms them into dreamlike visuals using AI stream diffusion, layered across six interconnected screens. Floating particles, fragmented text, and glitch aesthetics echo Paik’s philosophy, blending human movement with machine logic. Spatially mapped sound, including excerpts of Paik’s own voice, guides viewers through the environment, enhancing the connection between visuals, movement, and media theory.

My Role:
I captured and digitized my own movements to generate visual content, developing AI-driven surreal visuals that were layered across multiple screens using TouchDesigner. By integrating Paik-inspired glitch aesthetics, textual fragments, and particle systems, I enhanced both the narrative and spatial cohesion of the work. I also designed and mapped spatial audio to align with the Hexadome geometry and visual events, ensuring the installation created an immersive, reflective environment that honored Paik’s philosophy of technology as a human-centered expressive tool.
