Hello, I'm Avani 👋🏻 a creative technologist and interactive artist. Currently pursuing Masters in Expanded Media from Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences. I specialize in creating interactive experiences that combine both physical and digital elements. I love trying new things, be it hardware or software, love the unknown and solving problems, and have no fear of failure or starting all over again.
My journey in this field started during my college years when I was studying communication design. In my third year of college, I was introduced to projection mapping, and it completely fascinated me. It was a defining moment when I realized that I wanted to work at the intersection of design and technology. After completing my degree, I began my career as a visual designer at a company that focused on augmented reality, virtual reality, physical computing, and experiential marketing.
As I progressed in my career, I became more interested in the technical aspects of these technologies. I started learning about physical computing and AR/VR development and gained proficiency in software like Unity, Unreal, Touch Designer Processing, 8th Wall and programming languages like JavaScript and C#. I found immense joy in blending art and technology to create unique experiences. What excites me the most is the limitless potential when you combine design and technology.
I have five+ years of working experience in industry and I've also had the honour of being selected to work at Fabrica, a renowned communication research centre affiliated with United Colors of Benetton, located in Treviso, Italy.
Looking to leverage passion for tech-driven design, media art, innovative product and human-computer interaction design to solve complex and challenging problems in a multi-disciplinary team with a visionary mind.

I crafted this electronic mask from unused components during a 'Make Your Own Mask' workshop at Fabrica, where we were preparing for a group photo. It symbolizes how technology can both conceal and reveal our creative identities.

FABRICA VERSUS CORONA
FABRICA’S OPEN CALL
Being in Fabrica has always been my dream. Having an opportunity during the global pandemic in the open call was the very first step toward my dream.
Sharing my work and creative thoughts got me selected and featured on the social media and websites of Fabrica. I submitted multiple concept graphics for Fabrica versus Corona.

FABRICA VERSUS RACISM
FABRICA’S OPEN CALL
After that the first idea I represented was for 'Fabrica vs Racism' - the topic reminded me of the incident that happened with my friend in high school, where everyone used to call her 'kali', which translates to black.
Fabrica not only allowed me to represent my work but also a voice to stand for such inequality.
